[The lecture has to be canceled due to health issues]
On October 22, English film scholar Richard Dyer will give a public lecture on marginality and film at Freie Universität Berlin. In "Marginal Is Not Always Marginal: Blacks and Queers in LA DOLCE VITA", the Cinepoetics Senior Fellow will analyze sociological and aesthetic perspectives on the topic at hand. The audio-visual staging of these marginalized groups can shape the contours of real as well as fictional societies, Dyer explains. Hence the talk complements our current research focus Beyond Spectatorship.
The public lecture will start at 7pm while LA DOLCE VITA will be screened beforehand at 4pm. Afterwards, there will be a small reception in the foyer.
