mediaesthetics

Mediaesthetics is a freely accessible online journal for film and media studies. It aims at the development and testing of new, multimodal, and genuinely digital ways of publishing multimedia-based analyses of audio-visual images. Thereby, writing itself can integrate grasps on the fleeting idea of analysis – and thus the temporal dynamics which only realize themselves in the act of perception. In this sense, mediaesthetics does not only explore modes of writing about audio-visual images, but rather a writing with audio-visual images. The cinematic image can as such become an element of a verifiable and comprehensible scientific argumentation.

The articles are created in an FU-Wiki which makes multiple writing- and image arrangements possible, and are then published in HTML via OJS (Open Journal Systems) in the sense of Open Access.
