Christine Lötscher
Christine Lötscher studied German studies and history. She is a research assistant at the Institute for Popular Culture Studies at the University of Zurich.She also works as a literary critic and is a jury member for the Swiss Book Prize.
Her research focuses on theory of nonsense, popular genres in literature and film, such as speculative fiction, fantasy, horror, thriller and on media theory and media history. Most recently, she has been working on the Poetics of the New Weird. She is, in addition, the author of „Das Zauberbuch als Denkfigur. Lektüre, Medien und Wissen in der zeitgenössischen Fantasy für Jugendliche. Populäre Literaturen und Medien“ (2014) and co-editor of “Übergänge und Entgrenzungen in der Fantastik” (2014).
