Thomas Hensel
Professor of art- and design theory at the University of Applied Sciences Pforzheim, Faculty for Design and co-director of the Institute for Human Engineering and Empathic Design (HEED). Hensel gained his doctoral degree in cultural studies and history at the University of Hamburg. His research activities concentrate on Media- and Science/Knowledge history of aesthetics, design theory and game studies (especially imagery of computer games). He published in the compendium Handbuch Designwissenschaft: Theorie – Geschichte – Praxis (2018), is co-editor of Game Studies (2017) and author of numerous articles on computer games, such as “’The cake is a lie!‘ Polyperspektivische Betrachtung des Computerspiels am Beispiel von Portal“ (2015).
